NEW SMYRNA BEACH – A 23-year-old New Smyrna Beach man was arrested today after agents from the Child Predator CyberCrime Unit found evidence of child porn in his home, a police official said.
The CyberCrime Unit, which includes investigators from New Smyrna Beach police and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Kenneth W. Crist after a search warrant was executed at his home at 605 Goodwin Ave., according to a statement by New Smyrna Beach police Sgt. Eugene Griffith.
Numerous child pornography materials were found in the beachside home and one image showed a child that is no older than 3, Griffith said.
The search warrant was executed after a month-long investigation by the Child Predator CyberCrime Unit. Numerous CD, DVDs and a computer were seized during the raid today, Griffith said. The seized items will be analyzed to identify any additional images of child pornography, Griffith said.
Crist was charged with two felony counts of promoting sexual performance by a child and six counts of possession of sexual performance of a child, Griffith said.
Crist is in the Volusia County Branch Jail on $11,000 bail.
