Pictures: Observed and Lost
Lorna Bieber

In her mural-sized pictures and wall sized montages, Lorna Bieber starts with anonymous generic illustrations and pictures discovered in books and magazines. These are then reinterpreted by way of a range of manipulations such as conventional and non-traditional photographic methods. This complicated, several-layered approach of manufacturing final results in special gelatin silver prints that reveal unnoticed, unappreciated, and poignant pictures previously imbedded inside their generic resources.
